About Me

Violence among young people is an aspect of their desire to create. They don’t know how to use their energy creatively so they do the opposite and destroy.

–Anthony Burgess

I have always been fascinated by the creative works of the human species. From ancient cave paintings to virtual reality, there is a continuum of art that saves our species from being merely the best killers ever evolved.

Visual arts, music, poetry, theater, dance, fashion, and software reflect the inner and outer connections we make through imagination.

I’ve been taking pictures of my world since I was a boy but I didn’t get serious about it until I moved to England in 1989. I got my first real Nikon while I was there and I still have it. I was shooting an average of a roll of 36 exposure film every week until about 2005 when I got my first nice Nikon DSLR – the D40x. I have bought quite a few cameras since then. I am particularly enamored of my Nikon D850.

Of course, I’ve done other things besides take pictures. I’ve written and performed music, made some videos, and started a couple of companies.
